About the Journal

The IMC Journal of Medical Science (IMCJMS) is an open access bi-annual medical journal published by Ibrahim Medical College. IMCJMS was previously known as Ibrahim Medical College Journal, which was first launched in January 2007. The name of the Ibrahim Medical College Journal was changed to IMCJMS by the Editorial Board effective January 2016. All the previous issues of Ibrahim Medical College Journal are available in Archive.

The journal is published in January and July of each year and also article(s) is published continously. The mission of the journal is to provide a platform for researchers and scientists from within the country and abroad for rapid publication of new findings and observations on issues pertinent to medical science, medical education, health science and nutrition. The Journal prefers articles on studies that are well designed and substantiated by adequate and reliable data. The Journal publishes original articles, brief research notes, clinical case reports, review articles and perspectives. The information, opinion and statements within the individual article are the responsibility of its author(s).

The Editorial Board of the Journal comprises of a dedicated team of local and international experts in medical science, and related fields namely, microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, nutrition and public health. All members of the Editorial Board actively guide and set the direction of the journal.

There is no Article Processing Charge (APC) as the journal is supported by Ibrahim Medical College which is a non-profit educational institution under the auspices of Diabetic Association of Bangladesh.  The Association is a philanthropic nonprofit organization committed to provide socio-medical services and advancement of medical science and education.  

The journal is indexed /enlisted in Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ), Crossref, NLM Catalogue, Index Copernicus International, Semantic Scholar, Journal TOCs and Google Scholar. Also, the IMCJMS is recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
